Hardwood floor cleaning and polishing
A specialized process that can be performed on most hardwood floors. There are a few exceptions when this process will not work, a bit more on that below. Like all other services, we perform a thorough walk-through and inspection to identify problem areas. Once we've answered all your questions and we've relayed to you what type of results we should expect, we proceed with service. We start by moving all furniture off the hardwood, once the last coat of polish is dry all furniture can be moved back. All hardwood is thoroughly vacuumed to remove dry soils. We apply a safe hardwood floor cleaner that is agitated in with a floor machine and pad that is safe enough to not sand the floor, but aggressive enough to remove existing polish and heavy soiling. The leftover detergents and moisture are then removed. Depending on the level of soiling, these steps may be repeated.
Applying the finish
Once the cleaning has been completed, we proceed with the preservation finish. The finish used is a blend of urethane and acrylic, allowing it to be easily applied and easily adhering to an existing urethane finish. The first coat is applied throughout the entire wood floor and typically dries within an hour. The second coat is then applied, taking about 1.5 hours to dry.
After the last coat has cured, the wood floor is completely safe to walk on and move furniture back!
